My dream destination was Paris. I never thought about visiting Paris while working on a cruise ship. The truth is: Paris is a short drive from Le Havre, a common port of call for all major cruise lines. You can sign-up to join one of the guests' organized shore excursions or, if your ship stays in port longer, you can hop on a train ride independently. I ended up being in Paris on 3 different occasions. Below is a photo of my first visit, under a lot of rain, but extremely special. Born and raised in Brazil, Paris had been on my bucket list since I was a young girl.
Paris is a magical place. With its rich history and culture, Paris is renowned for its stunning architecture. The romantic ambiance goes beyond the picturesque bridges, tree-lined boulevards, cozy cafes, and tranquil banks of the River Seine. The city's historical landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre Museum, and Palace of Versailles, all contribute to the enchanting atmosphere. But what I enjoyed the most was feeling like I was taken back in time, as Paris has been the center of art, literature, philosophy, and scientific advancements for centuries.
Working on cruise ships is beyond a career development experience. The chance to explore amazing destinations enriches your life and broadens your perspectives. Seeing the world with my own eyes and not through digital media has turned me into a different person, and I would encourage everyone to travel and, if possible, combine work with travel!
Let me know about you, what is your dream destination?
