Creating an exceptional and memorable retail experience for guests on board Maximizing sales by promoting a quality range of Fine Jewellery through onboard seminars, presentations, and in-store events.

Developing detailed and extensive knowledge of all products as well as the brand culture Exceeding sales targets and delivering promotional events such as seminars and presentations. Who you are: Outgoing, with a strong retail background and knowledge of Fine Jewellery brands, including experience working with and selling luxury brands and different precious gemstones and metals such as gold, and platinum. Possess excellent face-to-face customer service and sales ability, utilizing strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Japanese speaking - either native or 2nd language.

Motivated and driven to achieve sales targets. Proven ability in public speaking and showcasing luxury items. Adaptable to change and able to work in a high-pressure environment. A strong team player who is goal-orientated. Wine Steward

The wine steward assists the Maître d' in all his tasks. He manages the stock of cruise and fine wines, ensures sales of fine wines to passengers, respects the hygiene rules imposed by USPHS, and ensure that they are correctly applied by the restaurant brigade. Wine steward is responsible for the condition of service equipment, cleanliness, storage, inventories, etc. and is irreproachable in presentation and uniform.

The wine steward is responsible for the mise en place and presentation of fine wine, displaying wine list on each table and keeping it up to date, selecting cruise wines, reporting daily sales. He is in active contact with passengers to promote the wines list. The wine steward is responsible for all tasks related to the mise en service, the preparation of restaurant opening, the service and the end of service according to the USPH and Company's standards.

Weekly inventory - Fine wines - Cruise wines - Inventory of sommelier equipment and glassware.

Orders - Prepare daily requisition (wine and soft) Prepare fine wine and sommelier equipment orders when required.

Loadings - Occasional participation, according to schedule, in loading: 1 sommelier present per loading. - Participation of 2 sommeliers during fine wine and cruise loading.

Maintenance - Daily maintenance of equipment and glassware (ensure storage on assigned shelves). - USPH standards for fridge, storage cupboard, sommelier glassware. -

Maintenance of champagne buckets and stands, silver sub-bottles. - Wine cellar/fridge shelving in 2 restaurants during general cleaning

Sales - Organization, preparation and coordination of fine wine tastings at least once per cruise: premium wines (amuse-bouche for food and wine pairing. - Proposition of wine by the glass - Be present at the bar at aperitif time with evening menu and fine wine list to boost sales. - Ensure that the wines by the glass offered that day are highlighted on TV commercials so that passengers are well informed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience 1+ Years’ experience in retail or hospitality; luxury guest experience is of interest.

Proven track record driving sales performance through business development activities including product launches or events.

Minimum high school diploma, associate degree or beyond preferred; studies in retail or hospitality is a plus.

Language: second language (i.e. German, French and/or Italian) is a desired asset.

Must be at least 21 years old.

Able to travel and live/work on a ship.

Able to work 6 month contracts.

 Able to work 7 days a week, up to 77 hours.

Possess a valid passport and when possible a seaman book copy.

Able to stand for long periods of time.

Able to physically participate and effectively contribute in cruise line’s boat safety and emergency life saving drills as required.

Able to lift, pull, and push boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store and lockers up to 55 lbs. using the appropriate safety equipment as required.

Proficient English reading, writing and speaking skills.

Must have valid Canadian Passport!
